-Executive Protection Specialists plan ahead and determine potential risks or dangers.
-Bodyguards go with their target wherever they go with little or no pre-planning.
-Executive Protection Specialists are specifically trained on counter-intelligence and courses of action should an attack be initiated against their target such as: safe house destinations, where local hospitals or emergency medical services can be obtained, coordination with law enforcement for motorcades, travel routes, etc.,
-Bodyguards usually don't have this specific training.
-Executive Protection Specialists usually work in teams comprising of 2-12 agents and use specific formations for moving targets depending on the circumstances such as walking or driving.
-Bodyguards usually work as 1 or 2 individuals protecting their targets.
