Over celeberating on New Year's Eve

Having a pre-arranged plan to get home after celebrating

As the current year winds down and people are preparing for a new years eve celebration, many forget to arrange for transportation to get home if they've celebrated in excess.

Statistics show that most people hurt or killed on the roads during the holiday season are a result of being hit by a drunk driver. Most of those injured or killed are innocent victims that had no alcohol in their systems.

There are numerous arrangements that can be made ahead of time for after hours party-goers to get home safely.
- Have a designated driver that has not drank alcohol do the driving.
- Use the transsportation companies that offer rides around the holidays for free.
- Stay at the residence or party location until the next day to avoid needing
transportation.
- Don't drink.

We wish to extend to everyone, a happy and safe New Year!

Sexting

Sex Texting in America

One of the latest social networking phenomena in the U.S. is known as Sexting.
Sexting is the texting (usually done by teenagers) of partially clad or nude photos
to members of the opposite sex.

Not only can this be considered a means for illicit sexual exploitation, but many times
pictures have been broadcast to other individuals of which the pictures were not intended
and harrassment has occured of the texter.

In specific cases, the texter has endured harrassment and embarassment to the point
that they have taken their own lives.

Criminal Records

What's involved in a criminal record search?

Oftentimes, clients call us requesting a criminal record search on an individual. Reasons can be for employment, child care or custody, a pre-marital investigation, etc.

Before a criminal record search can be conducted, the individual must be identified with name, date of birth or age, a current or former address, etc.

Once the subject has been identified, electronic means are used to find out where the individual resided over the past 7-10 years and the cities, counties or states are searched for records.

For further information on having a criminal record search conducted, please contact us at

Infidelity on the computer

Is your mate cheating on you over their computer?

Infidelity by computer has become a larger means of cheating over the last 10 years due to the internet and usage of social websites. People are looking up old friends and are using e-mail as a means of communicating without becoming suspect from using telephones.

Individuals seem to think that erasing their internet movements means nobody can track their contacts. This is far from true as computer technicians are able to reformat a hard drive to show most all information originally stored on them including temporary files.

This means of computer forensics is not only used to find cheating individuals, but for obtaining evidence in cases of child pornography and fraud.

Hidden Cameras-What's legal, what's not?

Hidden cameras can be placed in certain locations, but not in other!

Often times, companies have problems with employee theft, but don't know the legalities
of placing hidden cameras.

Hidden cameras can be placed anywhere an individual has no right to specific privacy
such as breakrooms, a warehouse, office space, entry & entrance locations, or any place
the public can roam freely.

Hidden cameras cannot be placed in areas such as restrooms or changing rooms where an
individual has an expected right to privacy from another individual or electronic means.

Surveillance or GPS Tracking

Which is better for your case, Surveillance or using a GPS Tracking Unit

It really depends on your case objectives!

If you just need to know where an individual's travel routes and what stops they are making,
a GPS Tracking Unit placed on the vehicle can fulfill the need.

need to have a surveillance conducted.

In many instances, you can use both to have a read-out of all stops made and pictures to co-oberate their actions.

Pre-Employment Background Screening

Many people have asked me why pre-employment background screening is so important in today's world. Here's a few examples of why these should be mandatory for every business to have done:

Education:
To verify that an individual has a diploma or degree
(Over 60% of applicants lie about their education on applications)

Criminal Records:
To find out in an applicant has a criminal record prior to hiring them

Social Security Number
To verify that the person is who they say they are and that they are legal
to be in this country

Wants & Warrants
To find out if the applicant is wanted or has a warrant for arrest by any law enforcement

Protection Against Negligent Hiring Lawsuits
If you hire an individual with a violent criminal past and that individual commits a violent
act against you or your employees and you didn't conduct a background check to find out
this past information, you could be looking at being sued for negligent hiring. Losing a
negligent hiring lawsuits can bankrupt a small business as the cost can be in the million
dollar range.

Bodyguard or Executive Protection Specialist

What's the difference between a bodyguard and an executive protection specialist?

-Executive Protection Specialists plan ahead and determine potential risks or dangers.
-Bodyguards go with their target wherever they go with little or no pre-planning.

-Executive Protection Specialists are specifically trained on counter-intelligence and courses of action should an attack be initiated against their target such as: safe house destinations, where local hospitals or emergency medical services can be obtained, coordination with law enforcement for motorcades, travel routes, etc.,
-Bodyguards usually don't have this specific training.

-Executive Protection Specialists usually work in teams comprising of 2-12 agents and use specific formations for moving targets depending on the circumstances such as walking or driving.

GPS tracking

Last month I had a case where the husband was known to be cheating, but the wife didn't know where he was going during the day or who he was meeting with. Being the husband's job involved traveling throughout Arizona, conducting a regular surveillance would have taken numerous investigators and vehicles. We decided to attach a GPS (Global Positioning System) to the husband's vehicle so that only one investigator with a laptop could follow him and still obtain video of where he was going and with whom he was meeting.

After 3 days of following the individual with GPS, we were able to obtain video of him meeting another co-worker on multiple occassions in another city some 90 miles away!

We provided the vehicle to the spouse, who in turn confronted her husband with the evidence.

Protecting a student from harrassment & threats

I had a female college student contact me and told me she was being threatened by a guy she had previously dated. She stated the guy was from Turkey and had been harrassing her by leaving texts stating if she didn't get back together with him, he would do harm to her family and kids.
We obtained an order of protection from the local court and had him served the following day. He arrived in court and told the judge he had not threated the lady or her family. We showed the judge the texts the defendant had left on her phone and the judge became furious and ordered the student not to have any further contact or be within 2 miles from the lady, her family or her residence.
Once we found out the Turkish student was here on an expired student visa, we had U.S. Customs pick him up and deport him out of the country with no chance of returning to school here.
